What we collect and why · Last updated September 2026
This notice explains what personal data PM Practitioner collects, why we hold it, and what you can do about it. It applies to pmpractitioner.org and to any certification you enrol in through it.
We collect only what credentialing actually requires:
Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our servers.
We hold this data to deliver the service you enrolled in: to book and proctor your examination, to issue a credential in your name, and to answer verification requests about that credential.
We also hold it to meet our obligations as a certification body — principally the ability to confirm, years later, that a credential we issued is genuine.
An issued credential appears on our public register. That record shows the holder name, the certification, the credential ID, and the issue and expiry dates.
This is deliberate: a credential nobody can check is worth nothing. It does not include your email address, phone number, payment details or examination score.
Your digital badge is hosted by LiveCertification, our badging partner, and carries the same information.
We share personal data only where the service requires it:
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with recruiters, advertisers or data brokers.
Credential records are kept indefinitely, because verification has to keep working long after a credential has expired.
Enrolment and payment records are kept for seven years to meet accounting obligations. Examination session recordings are kept for twelve months and then deleted.
If you close your account, contact and marketing data is removed. The credential record remains.
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or delete data we no longer need to hold.
Where a correction affects an issued certificate — a misspelled name, for example — we reissue the certificate rather than amending the record silently.
To exercise any of this, contact us. We respond within one month.
We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to remember what is in your enrolment. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
